They are not who you think they are!  It shouldn’t be so confusing.  Who is telling the truth and to who is lying to your face?  Sending beautiful flowers from a reputable florist is easier said than done these days.  If you stick to one major rule, your beloved is more likely to get the best quality Valentine’s Day Flowers for the money you spend.  The major rule of thumb would be:  Buy directly from your local florist… even if you need to wire them out-of-state.  Skip the big advertising companies such as 1800flowers, fromyouflowers, proflowers and more.  These online advertising companies only exist to take a percentage of your money and outsource to a local florist anyway.  Companies like these are skimming money from your order without you even knowing.  In the end you get something of much less value, less quality, or even worse… wilting flowers that are drop-shipped from who knows where.  These companies are well-known for misleading consumers and not telling whole truth.  You may find truth on consumer review websites and other helpful websites like www.flowerchat.com,  www.floristdetective.com and www.savetheflorist.com.  

These deceptive companies think you’re stupid and think that you will never know the difference or figure out their scheme.  We think you’re smarter than that, and can make good choices with honest information.  Save yourself from embarrassment…don’t get burned.  Save the flower recipient heartache too.  In many situations there are unhappy recipients, tears, frustration and little recourse.  You may file complaint with the FTC, if you’ve already been there.  Follow this link for help.

Helpful tip for ordering flowers:

Hypothetically ask the person on the phone if you can pickup your flowers instead of having them delivered.  If the answer is “no”, you’ll know you’re not dealing with a real florist, instead you’re dealing with an order gatherer.  Search out your local florist… They are there!  Look beneath all the advertisements and make sure they have a valid physical address.
