Tips For Hyacinth Care
Would you like to learn something new today?
Hyacinth are exceptional.
We tell our customers all of the time, “Giv’em a fresh cut” but that goes for every type of flower except for the Hyacinth. Suprizingly, you should not cut Hyacinth stems. The white area on the bottom of the stem is actually part of the bulb that has been cored. The very bottom “basel plate” of this area allows it to drink water, and should be retained. Hyacinth are better off left as they are, but you must not dilly dally when getting them from one water source to another.
Other things to remember when caring for beautiful Hyacinth and other fresh flowers:
- Keep in a cool place out of direct sunlight and drafts.
- Refresh water as needed, keep water clean and clear.
- Put them somewhere where they will be thoroughly enjoyed.
Of course if you have any questions on how to care for your fresh cut flowers (or in this case, un-cut) from our flower shop in Anoka Minnesota , call us anytime! We’d love to hear from you.
